I'm getting an error message when I try and log in. What's wrong?

If you experience problems logging in, or after you log in you get a message "Error: You must be logged in to access this page", it is probably because your browser has cookies disabled, or because your browser's security settings are too high. Please ensure you have cookies enabled.

How to Set and Customize Cookies Settings in Internet Explorer

If you use Internet Explorer try this; go to Tools->Internet Options->Privacy->Advanced. There is a setting in there called "Allow per session cookies". Make sure it is enabled.

If you don't get anywhere try using another browser, like Firefox or Opera, which are both free to download and, in our opinion, much more secure alternatives compared to Internet Explorer.

Why are all the images in some email that I receive replaced with "This image has been removed for security reasons"?

This is a security feature to protect you from downloading malicious images in HTML mail automatically. It is sometimes possible for someone to compromise your local computer by sending you an email which automatically downloads and displays a specially crafted image file embedded with malicious code. This feature helps prevent that from happening. If you trust the sender, you can display the blocked images easily by clicking on the "View Unsafe Images" link in the email header section above the message.

Sometimes the search feature does not work or displays an error?

This usually happens if you are trying to search a folder containing a large number of email messages. In this case the search operation will likely not complete before a configured timeout setting kicks in. Try storing your mail in multiple folders to try and reduce the number of messages stored in any one folder.

When I try and compose a message or open a message for reading nothing happens.

This happens if you have set in Options to open messages or the compose screen in a new window, and your browser is set to block pop-up windows. Most browsers allow you to disable pop up blocking for sites that you choose, which will resolve the issue. If not you can try disabling pop-up blocking on your browser completely, or switching to a browser which allows pop-ups selectively. Alternatively, you can disable composing a new message or opening a message for reading in a new window (see below).

How can I disable composing messages in a new window? How can I disable opening a message for reading in a new window?

Go to the Options page. Click on Display Preferences. Under "Message Display and Composition", change the option "Compose Messages in New Window" to "No". Further down under "Windows Preferences", you may also change the option "Open a new window when reading messages" to "No". Then click on "Submit" at the bottom of the page to save these settings.
