I'm getting an error message when I try and log in. What's wrong?

If you experience problems logging in, or after you log in you get a message "Error: You must be logged in to access this page", it is probably because your browser has cookies disabled, or because your browser's security settings are too high. Please ensure you have cookies enabled.

If you use Internet Explorer try this; go to Tools->Internet Options->Privacy->Advanced. There is a setting in there called "Allow per session cookies". Make sure it is enabled.

If you don't get anywhere try using another browser, like Firefox or Opera, which are both free to download and, in our opinion, much more secure alternatives compared to Internet Explorer.

Shortly after I log in the email system seems to hang (stop working). I have to restart my browser and log in again to get it to work.

This problem seems to appear when using Firefox or Mozilla under some Linux OS distributions. We are investigating this and hope to come up with a fix at some point. In the meantime you can work around the problem by disabling opening messages for reading in a new window (see below).

When I try and compose a message or open a message for reading nothing happens.

This happens if your browser is set to block pop-up windows. Disable pop-up blocking on your browser. Alternatively, you can disable composing a new message or opening a message for reading in a new window (see below).

How can I disable composing messages in a new window? How can I disable opening a message for reading in a new window?

Go to the Options page. Click on Display Preferences. Under "Message Display and Composition", change the option "Compose Messages in New Window" to "No". Further down under "Windows Preferences", you may also change the option "Open a new window when reading messages" to "No". Then click on "Submit" at the bottom of the page to save these settings.

How do I download email from another email account?

You can download email directly into your UKInbox account from another email account. You must be able to access your other account via pop3. If you currently download your email to your computer using a program like Outlook Express then you probably do have access to that account via pop3.
